Education emerged as a significant factor in determining the likelihood of engaging in side hustles among respondents. The data revealed that individuals with higher levels of education were more likely to have a side hustle compared to those with lower levels of educational attainment. This finding suggests that education plays a role in expanding opportunities for individuals to earn extra income outside of their primary sources of employment. Furthermore, the survey results indicated that the type of side hustles pursued varied based on educational background. Respondents with higher education levels were more inclined to pursue knowledge-based and technology-driven side hustles such as freelance writing, graphic design, and web development. On the other hand, individuals with lower levels of education were more likely to engage in traditional side hustles such as selling goods at local markets or providing manual labor services. Interestingly, the survey also highlighted the role of education in the success of side hustles. Respondents with higher levels of education reported higher average incomes from their side hustles compared to those with lower educational backgrounds. This suggests that education not only facilitates the engagement in side hustles but also enhances individuals' ability to leverage their skills and knowledge to generate more income from these activities. Overall, the survey results underscore the importance of education in influencing the engagement, type, and success of side hustles among individuals in Cameroon. As the country continues to prioritize education and skill development, it is crucial to recognize the positive impact that education can have on expanding economic opportunities for individuals seeking to supplement their income through side hustles. Education not only empowers individuals to explore diverse income-generating activities but also equips them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the competitive landscape of the gig economy.
